Pubs across Swansea are calling last orders today as new Welsh Government restrictions ban the sale of alcohol from 6pm.
Some of the city’s watering holes have already said they will shut up shop this evening until further notice, seeing no point in operating without being able to sell booze, whilst others have decided to stick it out and settle with just serving up soft drinks.
But, despite the restrictions, there is a way around things which mean you can still enjoy a pint or an alcoholic drink, even though you won’t be able to consume it on the premises of the pub or bar you buy it from.
Premises with a license for off-sales can continue to sell alcohol up until 10pm as part of the takeaway offer, the Welsh Government has confirmed.
