Nurses at a hospital in Wales have been told to not to walk alone after a colleague was reportedly assaulted before starting a night shift.
Staff at Morriston Hospital in Swansea have been contacted after a nurse was assaulted on her way into work on a night shift.
The staff member, who did not want to be named, received a WhatsApp message from their ward manager on Monday informing them of the incident.
It follows an email believed to have been sent to senior staff at the hospital urging staff to walk and out of work in groups.
It said that security staff would also be increasing their presence in and around the hospital site.
The staff member said staff have been advised not to wear their uniforms outside of work and that they should change their clothes when inside the building.
Swansea Bay University Health Board said it was not aware of an email being sent to staff but was trying to locate the message within its system.
