Supermarkets are urging anyone who bought one of a number of products to return them after potentially dangerous faults were found.

The Food Standards Agency has issued a number of product recalls and if you have bought any of these items you should take them back for a full refund.

Sainsbury’s, Waitrose, Asda and the Co-op are among the chains recalling items recently bought by their customers. including pies and curry mixes, as well as meat products.

These are the latest product recalls according to The Echo.

Waitrose

Waitrose & Partners are recalling Waitrose & Partners Slow Cooked Beef and Ale Pie because it contains hazelnuts and milk which are not mentioned on the label. This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to nuts (hazelnuts) and/or an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents.

Reason for recall: This product contains soya, which is not mentioned on the label (Asian Style Pork Belly Slices have been incorrectly labelled as Pork Loin Medallions). This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to soya.

If you have bought the above product and have an allergy to soya, do not eat it. Instead customers should call 0800 0686 727, email customer.careline@coop.co.uk or if customers are making an essential trip to the nearest Co-op store, they can return the item in-store for a full refund.

It said: “Check if you have bought the affected best before date(s) of the S&B GOLDEN CURRY MIX MEDIUM HOT 1kg.

“You can do this by taking a picture of this notice or writing down the best before date(s) for reference at home.

“Return the product(s) to the store for a full refund (with or without a receipt).”

Cliftons Farm is recalling raw milk and raw cream because campylobacter has been found in the products.

Shield hand sanitiser

Shield hand sanitiser is being recalled as the product contains an insufficient amount of ethanol and propan-2-ol.

Consequently, it does not kill bacteria or viruses, which could then reach the user, increasing the risk of infection.

The product does contain methanol, which is acutely toxic to the central nervous system and the eye.

Ingestion or contact with methanol leads to blindness and death. Furthermore, the presence of methanol is not accompanied by the corresponding hazard pictograms and warnings.

Users have therefore no information on the toxicity and flammability of the product, which in the presence of an ignition source, could lead to a fire.

The product does not comply with the Biocidal Products and the Classification, Labelling and Packaging (CLP) Regulations.

  • The product is packaged in a plastic bottle, available in different colours, with a black or white self-closing cap, and was sold online, in particular via eBay.

Primula have found a potential source of Clostridium Botulinum in one of their products. Primula are therefore recalling all Primula Cheese tubes, both 100g and 150g.

Primula are recalling all of these products because of concerns that this may have affected other products in their range.

If you have purchased any Primula Cheese products listed above, do not eat them. Please bring it back to your nearest store where you will be given a full refund. You do not need your receipt.
