Temperatures could reach 22C in parts of Wales on Thursday and Good Friday following a week of warm weather.

Thursday and Friday are likely to be the hottest days as the warm sunny weather continues into the start of the Easter weekend.

But, despite a warm few days on the cards, people are still being reminded to stay at home.

The Government guidelines say people should only leave the house for four reasons:

  • Infrequent shopping for essentials
  • One form of exercise a day
  • For a medical need or to care for the vulnerable
  • Work – but only if it cannot be done from home.

According to the Met Office, Thursday will be a bright and sunny day.

“After a dry, cloudy start, it will turn increasingly bright with sunny spells developing later. Feeling warm.

“Friday should be dry with sunny spells whilst Saturday and Sunday will be cloudier with showers at times. It will feel warm throughout.”

However, hayfever sufferers are being warned that pollen levels will be high.

It was the hottest day of the year so far in Cardiff today with temperatures rising to 20C.

Derek Brockway, of BBC Weather said that temperatures were predicted to reach 22C in parts of Wales on Thursday and Good Friday.

“Warmest day of the year so far in parts of mid and south Wales today.

“More fine and warm weather tomorrow and Good Friday. Turning cooler over Easter weekend with a few showers but still some sunshine and a fair amount of dry weather,” he said.
