Over 300 travellers are stranded on ferry in the Irish Sea overnight following 6 crew customers examination beneficial for Covid

A spokesman for Stena Line confirmed none of these impacted ended up travellers. 

They instructed Mail On the web: ‘Stena Line can validate that six customers of the crew of the Stena Edda have examined beneficial for COVID-19 past evening. 

‘In line with our basic safety protocols we alerted the Port Health and fitness Authorities, who encouraged us to maintain the vessel in Birkenhead as a precaution.

‘322 travellers and 53 crew are onboard. The 6 crew customers who examined beneficial for COVID-19 are being cared for and are executing nicely, with only mild signs and symptoms. fifteen close contacts have been discovered and are self-isolating.

‘Stena Line is liaising closely with public wellness authorities on this matter who have encouraged us that we ought to disembark the vessel in Birkenhead.

‘The welfare of our travellers and crew is paramount at this time.

Travellers reacted to the news in anger and took to social media to vent their frustrations.  

1 wrote: On the boat from Liverpool to Belfast that was menat to just take off at ten.30pm and they have just explained following 5 hours on this boat we have to wait right up until 9am to disemabark. 

Sitting down on a boat for 12 hours and no closer to residence and with no any methods of finding there.’
