Class A drugs with a potential value of thousands of pounds have been seized after police raided property in mid Wales.

Officers from Dyfed-Powys Police carried out a stop and search in the village of Meifod in Powys on Thursday afternoon.

As a result they conducted a search of a property in nearby Welshpool, where what police officers described as a “large quantity of heroin and cocaine” – around 107 grams in total – was discovered.

As well as the drugs haul, more than £1,000 in cash was recovered from the property.

Two men have been arrested.
