The Strictly Come Dancing winners have been announced and Kelvin Fletcher and Oti Mabuse are now the reigning champions.
The former Emmerdale actor looked shocked as the announcement was made by Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman while professional dancer Oti broke into tears.
It was a well fought final for the pair who faced Emma Barton and Anton Du Beke and Amy Dowden and Karim Zeroual, but they were the deserved winners of the Glitterball Trophy.
Kelvin impressed judges and viewers throughout the competition after being brought in at the last minute to replace injured Made in Chelsea star Jamie Laing, notably scoring his first 40 on the show for the quickstep he performed in the semi-final.
Speaking after the announcement, the visibly emotional 35-year-old soap star said: “I’m absolutely speechless, I did not expect that, it’s been such a privilege to be here.”
He added: “Is this really happening? It’s been the most surreal week of my life. I’m a massive fan of Strictly so it’s incredible.
“I’m so happy that I can be a part of it. But at the same time it’s quite bittersweet. I’m coming in on the back of Jamie’s injury – I keep thinking about him.
“I can’t imagine going through all this excitement and then having to pull out. My thoughts are with him – he seems like a fantastic guy and I hope he’s doing OK.”
He also paid an emotional tribute to Oti who he thanked for leading him to the Strictly Come Dancing final.
Oti also praised her dancing partner, saying: “I have done this show for five years and I have never ever met any celebrity who gives his heart, his soul…
“If something is not working we stay in training and rehearse, and not because we wanted to win but because he genuinely loved dancing.”
Strictly Come Dancing returns on Christmas Day for the festive special.
