High street giant closes website amid coronavirus outbreak

A major high street fashion store has closed down its website to protect staff and shoppers from the coronavirus outbreak.

Shoe store Schuh has already closed down stores on the high street but has now had to make an incredibly tough decision.

With all fashion stores now closed under the new strict government rules, Schuh have also this morning announced their website closure.

In a Facebook announcement today the store said: “To our community.

“Our website is now closed along with our stores. Our social channels remain active @schuh to continue to give you inspiration, escapism and sneaker loveliness.

“Stay safe and look after each other”.

From now on shoppers can keep up with the latest fashion news across their social media channels but they will no longer be trading.

The news of popular retailers taking extra measures for the safety of their staff keeps on coming, with the likes of Boots and Superdrug also changing their store opening times and services.

Other retailers including clothes stores Boohoo and New Look are continuing as normal the seasonal sales are coming into stores to try to keep trading as normal as possible.

Topshop has also announced it is business as usual online, with the website still taking orders and offering discounted items.
