Aberconwy has a new MP.

Robin Millar has been named MP for the north Wales constituency.

Since the seat of Aberconwy was created in 2010 it has been held by a Conservative MP.

The last MP was Guto Bebb who announced he would not seek re-election in protest at the Conservative government under Boris Johnson.

In the 2016 referendum, the constituency voted to leave, by 52.2%, according to estimates by the Commons library.

Who is Robin Millar?

Robin Millar, Aberconwy

Born and raised in Bangor, he was educated at Ysgol Friars before studying civil and structural engineering in university.

He worked across the UK and to Russia and America, troubleshooting problems in well-known buildings.

“I left engineering and became involved in business before working as a management consultant, focused on public sector reform and government. Most recently I have been turning around a large professional membership body.

“I was also elected into local government. As a Deputy Leader for eight years and a Cabinet Member for Families & Communities I was able to introduce a more preventative and enabling approach to local government.”

He has been living in Newmarket but has said he will move to Aberconwy.

Mr Millar supports Boris Johnson’s Brexit deal. “There has been enough debate already. It’s time now to leave so we can move on.”
