Four car crash closes road in Carmarthenshire as emergency workers battle to free trapped passengers

A multi-vehicle crash has caused a Carmarthenshire road to close.

The crash happened at around 6.15pm on Tuesday, December 10 on the A476 Heol Morlais, Llannon.

The A476 Swiss Valley to Llannon road is currently closed in both directions.

According to traffic service Inrix, the crash involved four vehicles from A476 / B4306 / Fountain Road to A476 / Stylen turn off.

Emergency services remain at the scene.

It is understood that people are trapped.

Traffic is generally coping well in the area, but those travelling between Llannon and Llanelli will be affected.

A spokeswoman for Welsh Ambulance Service said they were called at 6.15pm to reports of four patients and are still at the scene.

Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service said they were called at 6.20pm to reports of people trapped.

Dyfed-Powys Police said a further update will be made once the road has reopened.
