December 12 is General Election Day in the UK.
People living in all 40 constituencies in Wales are able to choose their MP – and six are definitely having new MPs.
Boris Johnson said this is an election he doesn’t want but has been forced into because MPs won’t make a decision. The other parties say it is their chance to stop Brexit, or renegotiate his deal.
Remain parties, the Liberal Democrats, Plaid Cymru and the Green Party have teamed up with a pact, and the Brexit Party has said it will not stand in seats the Conservatives won in at the last election in 2017.

Aberavon has most recently been represented by Labour’s Stephen Kinnock.

Vale of Clwyd
The constituency of Vale of Clwyd was created in 1997. It was held by Labour until 2015 when Conservative James Davies took the seat. He lost it again in 2017, and hopes to regain it this election.

Vale of Glamorgan
Alun Cairns has been the most recent MP and represents the Conservative party. His nearest competitor is Labour’s Belinda Loveluck-Edwards.
The Brexit Party has said it won’t stand a candidate there in this election.
Wrexham is a traditionally safe Labour seat, where the Conservatives have more recently posed a threat.
In the 2017 election, the majority was 1,832 and two years before it was 1,831.
Ian Lucas, who has been MP most recently, is not standing again.
Labour’s Albert Owen has said he will not stand again. This is now seen as a battle between Labour and Plaid Cymru.
